Based on our annual Green Gap report, Tandem collates data charting UK consumers' intentions to 'go green' over the following 12 months, and then tracks actual changes in behaviour over the same period. This monthly tracker gives a snapshot for how the data is moving.
March’s tracker continues the positive trajectory, but pace has slowed with the Green Gap projected to be significant by the annual report in October.
Tandem Bank CEO, Alex Mollart, said: “March’s update to our Green Gap research again shows a continually improving picture – as more and more UK consumers take steps on their journeys to a greener lifestyle.
“I’m particularly pleased to see a notable improvement in Scottish homes’ EPC ratings, especially given the impact of Covid and further pressures on household budgets since 2019. Let’s hope English and Welsh housing stocks can follow suit.
“Despite the improving picture though, the fact does remain that the Green Gap persists – and unless extra support and action is taken at a macro level, consumers’ actions will not marry up to their good intentions.
For those that are starting to look at the steps they can take, Tandem’s Green Hub is a useful tool to offer expert support and advice. And I’d suggest all pay it a visit.”
